Whilst I am writing to the list, I would like to have a small rant about Apple's decision to block iApps burn support for non standard drives. With patched support files, my Matshita UJDA710 is fully supported under both 9.2.2 and 10.2.8 but would no longer be supported under 10.3, with any attempt to alter the relevant file rendering it useless. Most reports rate 10.3 highly and I am keen to upgrade but the loss of IApps burn support, whilst not the end of the world, is very annoying, especially when there appears to be no good reason for it. This kind of petty behaviour from Apple does nothing towards encouraging new sales of either hardware or software and only serves to alienate loyal Mac users. Windoze PC users can burn from iTunes to any drive of their choice! I have protested to Apple through their feedback site and would encourage anyone else similarly affected to do the same; who knows, they may actually listen! Let's hope 10.3.1 remedies this sorry situation. Clive
I agree, and I have done the same. Modifying the files was easy and it allowed a drive that was already installed to continue working. I put a UJDA-720 in my wife's Pismo, but for burn support she has to stay in 10.2.8 rather than upgrading to Panther.
It's ironic that Windows users are supported better than Mac users by Apple's own software.
