No stupid questions here. It will not boot from a CD or the drive. I did get
it to boot from a CD but then it quickly went to sleep and wouldn't recover.
This sounds like the magnetic field problem that has been mentioned and I am
going to try to block the magnetic field as soon as possible (I need to find
antimagnetic foil or something similar).
