On a side note, would I get a new one out of Apple if I mailed the adapter to them?
Couldn't hurt to at least call them...
I purchased a Pismo for myself last Christmas on Ebay. A couple of months ago my yo-yo adapter started sparking. I called Apple and they mailed out a replacement the same day. I mentioned the sparking and the person I talked to sounded concerned about a fire hazard. No charge to me at all.
However, about a month later the wall cord had the same problem. I called Apple again and got a replacement but this one they charged me for.
Give it a try and Good Luck!
