Did you delete all preference files that you can relate to Safari in <your
home directory>/Library/Preferences?

If you still have the problem, please, open the console immediately after
Safari crashes and provide us with any relevant information relating to
Safari in there. Alternatively, if it crashes, the system should detect it
and will ask you if you want to report the error to Apple. Click yes,
report, whatever. Then, the next dialog will display a bunch of information
relating to the crash. Check the threads, specially the one that should have
the mention "crashed" next to its number. If you could provide us with
whatever is in this thread, maybe we could help further...

-Laurent.

choke v.: 1. [common] To reject input, often ungracefully. "NULs make System
V's lpr(1) choke." "I tried building an EMACS binary to use X, but cpp(1)
choked on all those #defines." See barf, gag, vi. 2. [MIT] More generally,
to fail at any endeavor, but with some flair or bravado; the popular
definition is "to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
