Yeah, I was slightly off... OpenGL is available to any application using MacOS X, but no Powerbook before the Pismo has drivers for hardware acceleration of OpenGL, so expect 2-5 frames per second on intensive full-screen apps.

Actually, the Framework *IS* OpenGL under OS X... all the 'extensions' are now Frameworks and kexts under OS X. Unfortunately, you need a Pismo or later to get OpenGL under OS X from a Powerbook.

I think it depends on what the application requiring OpenGL needs as video
memory. OpenGL can also run in software mode. So, I'm not sure that OpenGL
is ruled out on a Wallstreet. Hardware acceleration might not be available,
but that doesn't rule out OpenGL. I could be wrong, though...
