I realize that these laptops do not have a video card in the sense that desktop machines do, but I Was wondering if the video card in these machines was on a PCIesque bus or and AGPesque bus? I wonder because I noticed that quartz extreme is not enabled on these laptops and in OSX.3.2 sys profiler it says that the video card is on an AGP bus, I thought mayeb this was an error. I know apple didn't support quartz extreme on the rage cards (which these laptops had) and that enableing quartz extreme generally results in poorer system bus performance due to the higher traffic from the video data on the bus, but if these laptops do indeed have AGP rage cards, would the quartz extreme hack not cause the ill effects that using the hack with a pci vid card would have (like in a blue and white G3)? My mom's and sister's lombard are only the 333 MHz system with 6 GB drives and I have upgraded the memory to 256 MB in each laptop, mine is a pismo 400 with 512 MB of ram and OSX.3.2 is sluggish compared to using OSX.3.2 on my G3 400 at work with 256 MB of RAM which is a blue and white machine that is stock except it has 256 MB of ram...
Just looking to increase the finders responsiveness, but I don't want to use the hack if the vid cards are indeed PCI in these laptops... -Joe -------------------------------------- www.kuleinc.com www.kulehome.net ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
