I'm thinking that I may need to return this. I have a newish PRAM battery in another Wallstreet II/300 that just died but I don't want to open up the new one just to test this; if I did that, I'm sure that I could not return it.
I've seen weirdness like you mention on my otherwise good WallStreet. Fix your PRAM battery before you return it.
