I did install Windows Media Player 9 on VPC and while I can watch film clips (my school website), it is choppy generally not so great. I'm thinking of making another "PC" with Windows 98SE and WMP 9 to get more speed, but will wait until I upgrade my memory and see if that helps enough (I hope).
My recommendation would be Windows 2000, as you won't use this for serious game play anyhow.
