I got a used 900mHz iBook G3 for a bit more than that on eBay, still under warranty, with airport card and maxed out on ram. It must have been a BTO as it also has a 60Gb hard drive.

I'd go for something like that. I'ma Pismo fan as well (I've had 3 of them) but this is WAY faster.
