Hope its new =) Usually, it's a refurbed. Sometimes, you get a new one. Never the old one fixed. Sometimes, you might even be lucky and get an "upgrade". For instance, I had a Maxtor 120GB that died within the first 30 days. Sent it back to Maxtor to get a replacement.
