(Sorry about the multi list post but as this isn't specific to
any Mac other than *a* "new world Mac" I thought I'd be
a bit cheeky and seek wherever the answer may lie).

I have completely migrated to new world Macs, but have
retained my trusty old and most excellent HP LaserJet 5MP.
I don't have the money, nor the inclination to buy a new
printer as I feel that this model takes a lot of beating!

Anyway, my wife has finally got fed up of not being able
to print at home, having to wait for me to bring printouts
home from work I thought I'd see if I could start using it
again, so here's the question:

----
How can I best connect my HP LJ5MP with a parallel port
and mini (old style) Mac serial/AppleTalk connector ?

I have tried using a USB->Serial adapter but the printer
cannot be seen.
