Side note on the 83/66mhz comparisons.

I was just on the Wegener Media site looking for that info on the 1400 series
LCD (mentioned in another thread). Well, it seems they've got a G3/400mhz
card for the Wallstreet, and there is a benchmark chart showing a pretty decent
speed difference between the 83mhz and the 66mhz bus units.
http://www.wegenermedia.com/wllst400.htm

I didn't see a total comparison on the units BEFORE upgrade, (they do show
the 233mhz 0 cache unit, compared to the 300mhz WITH cache), but it appears that
the upgrade with the 83mhz bus is a bit faster than the 66.. I'm guessing
this is due to the bus difference as well as the slight speed bump (417 over
400mhz)..

The charts & stuff are here: http://www.wegenermedia.com/wllstspeed.htm
I'd be interested in this although I just gave my Wallstreet to my nephew,
and replaced it with a Pismo. The only thing I didn't like about my Wallstreet
was it seemed a bit too slow in handling photo's, and I couldn't justify
putting $350-400 in an upgrade... Otherwise I'd be happy to grow old with that
laptop-it is built like a tank.
