The whole ergonomics of the G3 Series is (are?) superior to later
models. The trackpad that follows the contour of the case interior, the
excellent keyboard, the curved case that somehow makes it more
human-friendly, the feel of the matt black finish against your hand
when you carry it. Altogether, a very pleasant, attractive design.

I'll admit when we got my wife's new 14" iBook the other weekend we felt it looked larger and boxier than the Pismo she'd been using before that; that curve on the older machine makes a difference. But difficult to do in a metal case (or at least, cheaply), I suppose.

But I didn't like the keyboards on the Pismo or on the Lombards my daughters had. Far too plasticky! The newer keyboard, on the 12" PB and the G4 iBooks is much better - firmer, doesn't seem to creak or bounce.
