I need help with your opinion. I need to find the least expensive way to network one of my printers to be used on my wireless network.
I have an Epson, with USB, and a Lexmark, which is supposed to directly network (more below). My network consists of 3 laptops with wireless PC cards, all using OS9. They connect to a graphite (non-extreme) base station. The Lexmark is connected by an ethernet hub to the airport. It can be seen by the network, but never prints anything. Also connected is an old Supermac, running the Epson in USB Printer Sharing. The Supermac barely remembers that it HAS hard drives and is unreliable. Lately it cannot see its ethernet card. I am giving up on it. My hope is that someone can suggest a fairly inexpensive solution that can allow me to make this work. What would be the cheapest laptop or desktop to take the place of the C600? Can airport extreme work in OS9? Does anyone have a suggestion as to why the Lexmark can be seen, but not used? (Lexmark claims it must be settings on the Airport. Imagine that?) Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Mike __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
