A Pismo should be able to boot from a CD. I don't know what is a "Knoppix boot CD", though, never heard of it. Pressing option at boot shows you the volumes that the Pismo sees as suitable for booting. If your 9.2 installation doesn't show up, then it's missing something and you might have to re-install. I'm not sure a Pismo can boot from USB. With an external USB CD-ROM, it could possibly do.
