I have degraded my fonts on my PB 17

In error I attempted to attach an application to an Apple Mail message. 
(OS 10.3.4). I stopped it quickly, however now all my fonts in all 
programs are degraded and look like bad letterpress. Tried Disk First 
Aid. Restarted. Is there something like the old Zap PRAM or Rebuild 
Desktop for OS X?Please help.
