I was talking about you couldn't boot into Mac OS 9 on the drive (just in 
case you have serious problems with X and need to install Mac OS 9 from a 
Mac OS 9 disk). 

I'm not sure about the first one - haven't looked around to see if there 
is a way to install the Mac OS 9 disk drivers by themselves. But it might 
involve having to re-format your drive (and the backup/re-installing 
other software, updates, etc.) - which could be a pain of its own...
