Today, my laptop is 5 years old.
On 2000 when OS X appeared, it was 1 year old and OS X
DID NOT support the DVD Drive.
And YES I'm waiting for a FIX to that issue.
If no, I will install Apple Software for free on ALL
my machines.
I sent two letters saying this to APPLE (one to
Customer Support) and nobody made a call to me.
Maybe, they understand that I have some rights.
Apple told me (6 years ago) that OS X will support
every 300mhz or faster G3. Then I bought a Powerbook
400mhz (top of the line one) based on that.
I will install Tiger for free too. If I find a DVD
Player, I will buy the original one.

Why are you informing the list of this? Is this your 'fix' for your powerbook?

My 9600 is 7 years old and runs OS Jag as well as a DVD drive just fine.....
