My 14" Wallstreet starts up with 10.2.8 Jaguar okay but the backlight goes out during the process and stays that way until I turn it up.
Is this a PRAM battery issue?
Anybody know where I can get a replacement PRAM battery? (Part Number 616-0102 is what the PRAM battery says) It is a flat composite of six small "watch" type batteries connected together and attached to a lead and connector.
What is the normal voltage of a good PRAM battery? 6.2 volts?
It's something with the Power Management Unit. I periodically encounter it. The solution is fairly simple.
Restart into OS 9.
Put the computer to sleep.
Wake it up.
Restart into OS X
At this point while changing Startup Disk settings the computer may hang. Reboot and try setting the Startup Disk again.
