The drive isn't so strange, as it's just a basic Matshita UJ-815 in a Pismo/Lombard expansion bay unit; what is strange is the $479 price! About $300 than the cost of the bare drive, which takes about 4 minuts to install in your empty expansion bay unit. I'd say give MCE a pass on it and look for a bare drive on ebay.
