MCE SuperDrive upgrade for iBook

I just purchased a refurbished 800mhz G4 iBook from Apple.  It only has 
a CD-ROM, and originally I fell for the low price of $749.  At the time 
apple had the combo drive units at $849, they've since been dropped to 
$779 but are in short supply.  Now I'm wishing I had at least a combo 
drive--or even better a Superdrive.  I know I won't even use the 
burning capability that often, but I just love the idea of having a 
"portable movie studio" if the need every came up.

Does anyone have any experience with the MCE SuperDrive upgrade for  
the G4 iBook?  The upgrade is $299 so it is not cheap.  I paid $749 for 
the 12" iBook so I'd now have a Superdrive G4 800 ibook for $1099.

Should I go for it?  Or should I sell the iBook and look for a Rev A or 
B 12" AlBook w/ superdrive?  I definitely want to stick with a 12" 
'book.
