Well, are you able to login at all? If you are, try to rename the Library folder in your home directory. Then, logout and log back in. See if you still have the problem. If so, then it probably means something in the system is hosed. You could try to run Disk Utility to repair permissions but I'm not sure that this would help with your problem. You might have to re-install the system, on a freshly formatted hard drive. If you can login without any problem after renaming your Library folder, then something in it is corrupted. You could try to bring back a few of the folders inside in your new Library folder, logout then log back in and see if the problem returns. When the problem returns, then it means that the problematic file is in one of the folder you just copied to your new Library folder. A preference file could be the problem.
