Hi have a 900mhz ibook (white) with OSX (panther). It has an internal CD-RW.
I just bought ilife'04 and want to burn DVD's. I'm sure I have to/and
probably want to go the external firewire enclosure route. Can someone please tell
me how I would go about this.

Here's what *I* did.

A) Purchased a firewire case,
B) Purchased a standard Pioneer DVD burner (the 8x model) from newegg.com (around $75 shipped). Pioneer is the OEM for many of the Apple SuperDrives.
C) Set the drive's jumper to master and put the drive in the case.
D) Plugged it into my powerbook.
E) Followed the instructions at http://homepage.mac.com/geerlingguy/personal_site/mac_guide/pages/15- burn_idvd_other.html
F) Burned away
