The faceplate on the LG is not easy to remove, but it can be done with
patience and working slowly.
I have been told that the LG faceplate fits onto the Samsung SN-324 24x
Combo drive. This is a very nice drive that I've used in a Pismo in both 9
and X. Not set to Master, so it is not recognized by the OS or Toast after
hot swap or wake from sleep; no booting holding down C key, but you can boot
holding the Option key. Should be able to find it in the $60-70 range. Good
luck.
