I travel back and forth to Asia twice per year, not to mention monthly trips
to different parts of the US. In 1984 the portable PCs weren't any smaller
than the original Mac, but that was 20-years-ago, and the comparison today
isn't between a Pismo and a Fat Mac, its between desktop replacement types
(Pismo, Wallstreet, large AlBooks) and thin and lights. The Fat Mac in 1984
offered a lot more power than the Radio Shack model 100, but the Pismo
offers less power than a current 12" iBook or PowerBook.

Unlike the new 15" and 17" PBs, the Pismo doesn't even offer any more screen
real estate, as it makes do with the exact same 1024X768 resolution as my
12" PB does. Yes, 14" is larger than 12", but not enough larger to justify
an extra 2lbs of weight, primitive video (you will never get Quartz Extreme
on a Pismo) and a bulky case.

I'm glad you like your Pismo, I'm just saying that it isn't the "best PB
ever", just perhaps the best for you.

Less is more,

Andrew
