Sorry to be so late answering all your helpful posts, but I learned=20 the hard way the answer to my problem:
Two days ago there was a BIG fire in a warehouse about 2 miles from=20 my apartment. It was so big that burned the electrical and cable TV=20 wires that feed a large part of my area. So I was without electrical power for about two hours, and without=20 cable and cable internet for about two days. And guess what? My phone worked perfectly, without the strange=20 noises. Mind you, is a Panasonic 900 MHz, so there should not be any=20 interference, but there is. My previous phone, a different brand=20 900MHz never gave me problems. So yes, there is interference between my NetGear base and my phone. Live and learn. :-)
Easy fix go buy a "WIFI Friendly" 2.4 Ghz or a 5.8 Ghz phone.

Yes, that is what I'll do. Altough I bought the Panasonic 900 MHz just 2 months ago, the interference is at best, annoying, and at worst, unusable for a short time.
Best regards.
