I doubt that your Pismo is breaking up. Both my Pismos have cracks - one at the wedding line in front of the trackpad clicker, where the plastic rejoins after flowing around the clicker hole. The other one has had a crack in the left palmrest since nearly new - i tripped over the ethernet cord and the Pismo went flying. Only other effect was that the power cord became easy to insert! To prevent this happening again, I now run any wires (ethernet, power, phone etc) around the legs of the table or desk 2 - 3 times before crossing the floor. Worst you can get then is a broken wire, instead of a broken Powerbook.
If you are still worried about it, do you have a picture of the crack? Any change? Any idea what caused it?

I just finished upgrading my Pismo with memory, OSX, and the Sony CDR-DVD. Then I noticed that I have a fine crack on the top (left hand side) of the case. I don't even know how it happened, and I am really bummed about it. My question......is there anything I can do to protect the computer at this point? Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks, Kate
