I hope someone can help me with this problem. Running 9.1 on a Ti 400... after reboot or waking from sleep, connecting to internet (dialup) takes several attempts. By clicking on "connect" in Remote Access or by clicking on Netscape or IE icons, the remote access window opens but does not go beyond "connecting"... no dial tone. So I cancel and try, try again. By clicking the various triggers to connect (get mail, browser icon or directly from Remote Access panel) it will eventually make a connection, usually after 6-10 attempts. After disconnecting, as long as the computer does not get shut down or put to sleep, re-connecting happens first click. Any ideas? FWIW, Tech Tool says the modem is okay and this problem exists on various phone lines.
Thanks for any ideas... this is really annoying and I fear someday I won't be able to connect at all. Don -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
