I just bought my wife a new iBook (14 inch). She was using a G4 Powerbook 867 12 inch model. We had upgraded the OS to 10.3.7--it originally came with 10.2.x. I am planning on selling it and last night I went to put it back to it's original state and inserted the original Install/Restore CD. First of all, I tried booting from it and got a kernel panic on the screen with the silver Apple. I rebooted from the Hard drive and tried to launch the install program from the CD....it restarted and I got the same kernel panic about 5 seconds after the Apple shows up. I did a little exploring on the Apple Support site and didn't find much. Will I be unable to put Jaguar back on it? I'd really like to sell it with the *original* software. A thought, if I put in the Panther install CD and formatted the drive, would it then accept 10.2?
