Well, I have a just-installed OS on the iBook, why does it refuse to startup?

Any ideas?

But there is no ibook drive to clone. That's the problem, only my eMac

my circumstances?

I say try it anyway. . .Mac OS X usually "changes" during boot-up. And
if it does boot on the iBook, but doesn't have the resources, then
simply download the newest update and see if that works. Your iBook
doesn't work now anyway, so what do you have to lose?

AFAICT, in OS X, all components are installed. They might not be all active,
but they should be all there. For example, if the battery menu is not
installed, you would probably need to open it by double-clicking on it in
'/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras'.

dinosaur n.: 1. Any hardware requiring raised flooring and special power.
Used especially of old minis and mainframes, in contrast with newer
microprocessor-based machines. In a famous quote from the 1988 Unix EXPO,
Bill Joy compared the liquid-cooled mainframe in the massive IBM display
with a grazing dinosaur "with a truck outside pumping its bodily fluids
through it". IBM was not amused. Compare big iron; see also mainframe. 2.
[IBM] A very conservative user; a zipperhead.
