Are you talking about the entire display/upper housing assembly?

Aye, exactly.

Meaning the tabs are the aluminum parts of the hinges. If so, it should
just pull out.

Aye, again, exactly. There's a tab on both the right and left side of the entire display/upper housing assembly that slides into the hinge/bracket on the PB inverter board.

I would suspect a burr on the hole edge, and some
working of it would set things free. There isn't a screw or anything
that holds things together in that area.

Yep, it's pretty clear that there's no screw involved here; you can see that this is the case once you've dissassembled the computer sufficiently. What I was wondering was if there was some kind of groove, say, into which the tab on the left side had to slide in and out of (the tab on the right side slides in and out with absolutely no problem) and that required some special trick when it came to display removal like having to pull the display up to the left while pushing forward, chant "I hate Bill Gates" three times, and throw salt over your shoulder :-) Sounds like a burr along the edge of the hinge/bracket or the tab is what's giving me grief; just have to see what I can do, I guess.

Cheers,
Carl
