High resolution screens don't give much benefit
for working in Word or on the web

Strongly disagree!

Well, if you like me want to see the bigger picture while working
and not just zoom in on a small portion, and then out and in...

I write manuals in Word on my 15" AlBook and it's just enough
where I can see WHAT I'm writing/inserting while also seeing
the actualy page layout.

I'd go mad on a 1024x768 screen.
