Pismo has two entirely separate ATA busses, an Ultra-DMA/66 internal HD
bus, and an ATA Expansion Bay bus. So it's entirely possible the HD bus
is fried and the EB bus is not. If that's the case, the MLB is kaput,
only cure is replacement.

Before doing anything else though, try resetting the Power Manager and
the nvram (from OpenFirmware.)
