You say that the specs of your mac are internal cd/dvd and external q drive cdrw.

OK someone tell me if i am wrong but why put a blank cd/dvd in the internal drive anyway. because there is nothing that you can do with it in there, because it is just a dvd not a burner and it would not see the disc correctly anyway. As for the external burner if the burn circle is grayed out then the OS is not seeing the writer. Have you tried reinstalling the software that come with it , because when they say it is "supported by OSX" and there should be no need, what they really mean is if the burner is seen and works before you install the software then you are lucky and keep it that way.

i use toast for burning even though the systems i have have apple internal cdrw/dvd.
