Three things come to mind that you can do yourself:

Unplug and remove battery, make sure the reset button has been reset (on the
back panel with all the ports)

Make sure processor card IS seated PROPERLY.  Can sometimes fool you.

Make sure ram is seated properly.  There is also ram voodoo.  Some cards
work well in one slot while nopt in the other.  Some work not at all.  Try
flipping the chips around.

PS, a good fix for your nubby pull tab is to add plain old cellophane tape.
