Yes.
I have assumed the answer is yes, got the ethernet cable plugged in, but I'm about to pull whatever hair is left on my head out.
Make sure Appletalk is switched to the Ethernet port on the 9600, and Appletalk is on on the TiBook.
Like the rest of the PCI series, AT will automatically switch to the printer port with a setup like this.
It's simpler to connect them via a switch or hub, and regular ethernet cables.
