My Linksys has a "check box" on the setup page for "Keep Active."

It's a D-link and there's an option called "Auto-reconnect" and that is enabled, but I believe that is to do with the actual ADSL session, so that one doesn't have to log back in if the computer has been inactive for a long time.

What I am talking about here is a stall of around 20 seconds
where no traffic occurs, but the computer responds ok.
