Actually, I think this is not necessary anymore and at the very least one doesn't have to keep the L2 cache turned off in ordet to run 10.3 on a wallstreet. Many cited problems in the XPF documentation was only around in the Alpha and Beta stages. I recommend to read about user experiences with similar machines in the user forums.
