I agree this is the reason as the g4 bluechips aren't faster than the 500Mhz+ PB G4s in tests I've seen. iBooks, except maybe for the latest, seem crippled. I actually thought that the then 2003-04 crop of iBook G4s, maybe they had 256MB, looked bad GUI-wise compared to my WS II 266 with 384 MB and 10.3.
