I decided on a Thermal Take A2149 BL which seems to work extremely well, and is very compact, so it travels well. So far I'm really liking bluetooth, and regretting my decision to not have it installed on my iBook from the beginning.
How does bluetooth affect bettery life? Does anyone else use a DBT-120, or other bluetooth adapter like me? How does that affect battery life?

I didn't intend to become a BT Mouse expert, but I'm picky about human interface components, and so I've tried quite a number of them for extended periods of time. Some observations (keeping in mind that mouse evaluations are always very personal and subjective).

- If one button is your thing, the Apple mouse is hard (naw, impossible) to beat. It has perfect heft, smooth as silk movement, and gets decent battery life.

- The MacMice BT is a good aesthetic match for the Mac, but some people (including me) found it's performance atrocious. It would skip all over the screen no matter the surface (desk, mouse pad, etc.) and for me was simply unusable. Many other folks complained of similar problems (check the forums), but others apparently had no issue. YMMV. It's noticeably lighter than the Apple mouse and the scroll wheel is completely smooth in operation (no detents).

- The Bluetake BT500 (sold under many different brands) is very small. Performance is fine, but it can be fatiguing to use it all day. I find it to be the perfect travel mouse, though.

- The Bluetake BT510 (also sold under various brands) is bigger, but not quite as large as the Apple and MacMice. For me, though, it's fine for all day use. It's also lighter than the Apple mouse, and it goes through batteries a bit quicker. It also includes a USB cable that can supply power to the mouse if batteries are dead. The cable is strictly for power, though, the mouse still uses bluetooth.

My strategy at the moment:

The BT510 is my everyday mouse. About one day a week I switch to the Apple mouse just to give my hands a break. I keep the BT500 in my notebook bag as a travel mouse.

Well, it arrived, and now it's time to get a bluetooth mouse. Does anyone know of a good one for a low price?
