Is it true that processors from a WS II (233/266/300) wont work in a WS I (233/250/292) and vice-versa ?

Pretty much. There is a matrix chart in the "take-apart" manual that
tells which processors can be used with which logic boards. Rather
than specify "WS I" vs "WS II" the types are differentiated by
serial number "code."

Ken

So, what happens if you use a WS1 CPU on a WS2 ? I have an odd problem. I am using a WS 1 CPU (either a cahceless 233 or a 83/250) on what I think is a WS2 motherboard. THe mcahine boot chimes, and I hear some disk activity, but I never get any video, internally or external monitor.

Also, another odd thing: When I plug the power in, the fan ramps up for 4 seconds or so, and the green light blinks. Then, nothing. Anyone else see this ?
