Hi, Gang! I'm running Outlook Express 5.0.6 on my Wallstreet II with OS 9.2.2. Whenever I've purged the messages in the Deleted Items folder (by selecting the whole contents, and then pressing Delete), although they appear to be deleted and the Deleted Items folder has become empty, the available space on my hard drive doesn't increase. This holds true even after a subsequent restart. Even if I delete, say, 15,000 messages, I don't seem to have gained even a byte of storage space.
Have you ever noticed this? Could it be that I should trash some preferences file(s) from the system folder? The three reasonable candidates seem to be "OE 5.0 Update Preferences", "OE 5.02 Update Preferences", and "Outlook Express Prefs". Could there be some cache which isn't getting properly updated? I'm anxious for a way to regain perhaps 5 gigabytes of storage space I think should now be available to me on my crowded hard drive. If this is a problem which affects many Outlook Express users, a protocol for correcting it might benefit many. . . What do you suggest?
