I tripped and fell on my iBook causing it to no longer function. Upon disassembly, I discovered the HD to be *bent* and shattered. In addition to that, the logic board is damaged as well. The damage is restricted to one IC which is located on the "bottom" of the board near where the HD ribbon attaches. What has happened is while the IC has remained attached to the board, the top of the IC popped off.
I do not know much about IC, esp. how physical alterations will affect performance. If there is anyone in this group that does, your advice will be greatly appreciated. What I would like to do is blow it out to remove the moisture/dirt, and then glue the top back on. Is this possible or am I sol? Thanks.
