The multilingual message is definitely a kernel panic. It is most likely a hardware problem. Could be the RAM like you mention. What version of the OS are you running? If you did any update recently, it could also be the mouse.

Try removing the extra memory and the mouse and try booting. See what
happens. If it boots OK a few times, then plug back the mouse and try again.

Thanks Laurent. It's 10.3.9, I put 10.3.0 in the earlier email. Still have the Newton?

Can anyone who has done an archive and install share what exactly it does, and how well it does it? :)
