So, looking at Disk Utility, trying to format it on the Mac, I do
have options for FAT16 format, so it should be OK.
I was going to try and format it in the Mac then try it on the
Clie, but I cannot, diskUtility is unable to unmount the device.
Tried this with a different USB card reader, and all is fine.
The reader that worked with the 128 meg (could read/write) but not
with the 1 gig (could only read) is a Viking Interworks IntelliFlash
USB flash memory reader.
Nice and portable for the laptop bag, was $10 incl. shipping.
The one that works (r/w with both size cards) is a SanDisk ImageMate
8-in-1. Most definitely did not cost $10.
Anyone heard of Viking readers being flaky as a rule? This is the
first one I've used.
