Just use Carbon Copy Cloner, it'll work. Warning, it'll be slllloooooooowwwwwwww under USB.

No...you have to have on-board FW for FW TDM, as it's a part of the ROM. The Lombard doesn't support it.

As for a boot disk, you would be best served buying a copy of your current OS.
