The latest version is 2.6.6. If you are using an earlier version you
might want to update.

Hmm, no, sorry no idea. I've used it quite a few times and never had
any
problem with it crashing. It did sometimes create TS_Folder that
wouldn't be
accepted by Roxio Popcorn but it never crashed.
With the process of de-encrypting the DVD, are you sure that it doesn't
require a G4? Just wondering...
