Hi

I apologise if I'm going over old ground here, but I have just bought a Powerbook G3 Wallstreet series II, 233MHz, 160Mb RAM, 20Gb IBM Travelstar HD from ebay. It all seems to work perfectly when the AC lead is plugged in, but within a few minutes of using it on battery power alone it crashes. I thought it might be the Nikon View software I'd just installed but, having cleared it off the problem persists. After fully charging the battery (ie. all lights turn off) it reckoned I had about 1h 45mins of power available, and although it has actually lasted about that long it's crashed 4 times. Sometimes while I'm working and just know while I was ignoring it! Am I looking at a new battery here? or does it suggest a more serious problem.

Thanks in advance for any help, as a subscriber to the Supermacs list here on Lowendmac for my time with a UMAX s900 I know you lot can be invaluable.
