There is no restriction, per se. In fact, the WS is more tolerant of HDs than the later Lombard and Pismo. The issue is the proximity of the magnet within the HD's actuator to the sensor within the Wallstreet's display. I have had no problem with thin drives from Samsung, and these are what I recommend for Wallstreets. Alas, these will not work in Lombards or Pismos as the ATA chip in the Lombard and Pismo requires a drive which can properly auto-negotiate down to ATA-5 (most drives now adays are ATA-6) and the Samsung cannot properly auto-negotiate. For the Lombard and Pismo, older Toshibas will work, but not the current ones, also 5K80 Hitachi/IBMs, but also not the current ones. I have 40 GB Samsungs in my Wallstreets and 60 GB 5K80 Hitachi/IBMs in my Lombard and Pismo.
