Per others, a mis-seated video cable ~appears~ to be the problem, but would that cause the system to lose power? I don't know the answer to that, but am just asking. My experience as a ham operator (for about 25 years now) leads me to opine that it sounds like something is shorting to ground and causing a forced power off. If the video power shorts to ground, this might cause the problem (I would like to see the schematic to verify this). That would indicate the video cable is frayed/damaged beyond simple repair and would need to be replaced.
