Per others, a mis-seated video cable ~appears~ to be the problem, but would 
that 
cause the system to lose power? I don't know the answer to that, but am just 
asking.  My experience as a ham operator (for about 25 years now) leads me to 
opine that it sounds like something is shorting to ground and causing a forced 
power off.  If the video power shorts to ground, this might cause the problem 
(I 
would like to see the schematic to verify this). That would indicate the video 
cable is frayed/damaged beyond simple repair and would need to be replaced.
